The VinylFrog display caught my attention in two different ways: a dark green Mercedes-Benz under the booth lights, and a row of film rolls standing beside a red demonstration panel. Behind them, the signage separated the range into three clear categories: Color PPF, Clear PPF and Vinyl Wrap.

I photographed the display on November 4 at SEMA 2026. VinylFrog is exhibiting in North Hall, booth #12223, at the Las Vegas Convention Center during the November 3–6 show. It is a useful stop for anyone interested in how a car’s surface can change its whole appearance, without changing the shape underneath.

More Than Traditional Vinyl Wrap

The three names on the wall are worth separating. In VinylFrog’s range, Color PPF combines a color change with the intended role of paint protection film. Clear PPF is aimed at protection while keeping the underlying paint color visible. Traditional vinyl wrap is primarily about changing the vehicle’s color or finish.

That distinction matters when similar-looking shades appear in different categories. VinylFrog’s October 19 SEMA announcement lists Glossy Metallic Vampire Red and Glossy Metallic Midnight Purple in both its Color PPF and vinyl-wrap selections. Matching color names do not make the films interchangeable; they give visitors a starting point for comparing appearance and intended use.

For clear film, the announcement identifies UG15 at 7.5 mil and UG20 at 9.5 mil. Those are the manufacturer’s listed thicknesses, rather than a Best Vegas Events test or a durability comparison.

New Color PPF Finishes for SEMA 2026

Alongside its established colors, VinylFrog says it has added Color PPF shades spanning deep reds and dark purples, steel blue, lavender, berry, yellow, grey, teal and metallic blue. The announcement describes these new arrivals separately from its best-selling selection; not everything shown at the booth is a new release.

The broader SEMA lineup also includes Super Matte Black and Matte Performance Graphite Color PPF. For me, putting metallic and matte finishes in the same physical display is more informative than scrolling through small product pictures. On a roll, a sample or a full-size panel, there is more surface to look across and more opportunity to notice how the light changes the finish.

A Display Built Around Real Materials

The Mercedes-Benz gives the booth a full-size focal point, while the upright rolls and red panel bring the attention back to the materials. The combination works visually: you can look at an entire vehicle, then move your attention to individual colors and surfaces.

The dark green finish reflects the lights above the car, while the rolls behind it show a broader palette. Seeing a complete vehicle beside the loose materials gives the display two scales: the overall effect from the aisle and the individual surfaces up close.

Installation Demonstrations and Dealer Conversations

VinylFrog’s announced SEMA programme includes live hood installations using Color PPF and Clear PPF. That provides context for the demonstration panel in the display, but I did not watch a complete installation and am not assessing how either film installs or performs.

The company is also inviting installers, wrap shops and distributors to discuss its dealer programme. Its 2026 exhibitor page and current catalog set out those product families and business-facing information. That is part of VinylFrog’s trade-show presence, separate from this independent editorial visit.

A Different Side of Automotive Customization

SEMA is full of mechanical changes that need a specification sheet to explain them. A finish can make its first impression from across an aisle. Here, the contrast between the dark car, bright branding and exposed film rolls was enough to make me stop with the camera.

This is a look at the display and the company’s announced range, not a product recommendation. For visitors returning on Friday, November 6, booth #12223 is a place to compare those materials in person and ask the questions a photograph cannot answer.
